It’s so nice to meet you!
I am a 29-year-old wife, mom, beauty blogger, makeup artist, and self-care enthusiast. I live with my husband Cory and our 2 boys Max (4) and Josh (8 months) in the Valley of British Columbia, Canada.
I am a typical girly girl who loves pink, anything that sparkles, dresses and of course heels. I love playing with makeup and many other mediums as I am a creator at heart.
I have been on my self-love journey since realizing that I was not happy trying to be someone else who I thought was “prettier” or more “popular” than me. I decided that I wanted to feel comfortable in my own skin and learn to embrace my own features rather than change them.
I enjoy discovering new ways of embracing my unique beauty through self-care activities, reading self-improvement books, listening to personal growth podcasts, and sharing my journey with you.
The Meaning Behind Believing In Beauty
Through my time working in the beauty industry, I learned a lot about the meaning behind true beauty vs false beauty and how it plays with our self-esteem. I learned how the world tells us “we are not good enough”, how social media has a nasty way of making us seek approval in others rather than in ourselves, and how not knowing where true beauty can be found can cause depression, mental disorders, anxiety and other struggles.
Having struggled with extremely low self-esteem and anxiety myself, I started to realize that it felt good when I would step out of my little safety bubble that was used to protect myself from the world seeing my “flaws”. It felt good to stop covering up all the things that I felt like I needed to hide so that I wouldn’t be judged, and in doing so I began to feel more confident in myself. What I once saw as “ugly” or “not good enough” I began to see as beautiful. Having made this self-discovery, a fire was lit inside me to bring awareness to this issue that so many girls and young women have about themselves. If I was able to take my insecurities and negative thinking from my years of bullying and wrongful understanding of beauty and change them to become more secure in who I was, then I knew other girls could do this too and change their life for the better.
Believing In Beauty is about having an understanding of what true beauty really is and changing our inner beliefs about ourselves. Therefore, I created this blog, for you to become your best self and realize the true extent of your beauty inside and out. I am going to provide you with all the tools you need to build your self-esteem through self-care ideas, positive role models, makeup advice, beauty tips and most importantly, personal growth stories to support you in this awesome journey about loving who you are.
