When I first heard about the Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow palette by Morphe I cannot tell you how excited I was! You see I had been following Jaclyn Hill on YouTube for many many MANY years.
Being one of the top beauty Gurus on the social media platform, I knew that I would love what products she trusted and loved herself.
Jaclyn discovered Morphe, this awesome brand of makeup products for extremely reasonable prices, and I managed to get my hands on some of the products. I had ordered a few of the eyeshadow palettes along with a hefty amount of makeup brushes and fell in love the second I tried them.
So you can imagine my excitement and anticipation when Jaclyn announced that she was creating her very own palette with her very own formulation of eyeshadows as a part of the Morphe collection.
Every new video she posted on what she was working on and every swatch that she teased us with was all gearing me up ready for the 2 years later release.
Jaclyn together with Morphe had a few set release dates. Every time they would pick one, she would ask to push it forward as she wasn’t 100% on some of the colours and formulations of some of the eyeshadows. She wanted the palette to be perfect.
Eventually, the day came when she announced the official launch date with no changes. It was happening and you bet your little bum that I was setting the day and time in my calendar ready to get the palette for myself.
If you have ever tried to order a product that a beauty Guru has announced, you would know that it is virtually impossible to get it in the first round before it sells out. Normally it has to be restocked a few times till you can grab one for yourself as there is always someone faster through check out than you.
The Launch Of The Palette
The day finally came and my alarm went off. I had the webpage open ready for the night before so that I could just refresh and add to my cart to purchase it. Okay, I know I sound a little too obsessed at this point (just bare with me, I do have a moment of sanity coming up 😉)
I went right to the webpage, reloaded, placed the palette in my cart and headed to check out! “I made it! It’s really in my cart!” I kept thinking. So I proceeded to check out. It was at this point that I got brought back to earth. I took one look at the shipping cost… $50! What? No way! Yes girl… way. My excited, a kid on Christmas morning, all ooey gooey feelings went away as I quickly realized that I couldn’t justify paying that much for shipping. Especially for a palette that is only worth $40.
In the process of the high demand ordering of that product, it sent shipping costs way up for those outside of the US. Which for me was the case.
So I took a breath and closed the webpage. Yep, I walked away from this palette that I had been waiting for over 2 years for. This palette that I knew everyone would be talking about and posting pictures on their new looks from it.The beautiful Jaclyn Hill Palette that NEEDS to be a part of my makeup collection!Click To Tweet
I wanted it so badly but I decided that I needed to wait to see if shipping costs would go down before I would try to buy it again. I knew I was taking a risk as maybe the palette would sell out and then I would never get the chance to try it. But I had a feeling that the time would come that I would be able to get my hands on it.
Happy Birthday To Me
The time finally came that I could get the palette. It was my birthday and that made it a super awesome birthday present. So I placed the order and waited patiently (not really) for it to arrive.
As soon as it arrived I didn’t waste a moment in checking it out!
First I looked at the beautiful bright white and shiny silver packaging that said Jaclyn Hill scripted across the front. I opened it up to see “This palette is dedicated to all my loving subscribers” written on the inside. I felt my heart flutter as I realized I really had it here in my hands.
Then I slowly made my way through each of the beautiful colours admiring how incredible they looked in person compared to all of the images I had seen on the internet.
Row by row, I swatched every colour, and I loved every single one. The beautiful range of colours makes this palette a staple in anyone’s makeup collection.
The matte colours are such a perfect range of complementary colours to the shimmery ones. The shimmery ones are the perfect amount of shimmer where it clings to the lid beautifully giving off gorgeous flecks of sparkle without being too chunky or like a 7-year-olds Barbie glitter.
The number of looks that can be created with this palette makes it a necessity in my collection for sure.
Jaclyn did such a beautiful job putting this eyeshadow palette together, choosing the perfect range of colours and a smooth buttery formula to each of the shadows that it made the wait for me getting it totally worth it!

This palette contains 35 eyeshadows; 5 rows of 7 colours.
Here are all the eyeshadows swatched on my pale skin tone so you can see how they look on lighter skin and how beautiful the pigmentation is. The swatches are showing each row on the palette at a time.
