Behind The Line
Along with their pretty pink and simplistic style, Pink House Natural Solutions also comes with an inspiring story behind the creation of the products.
Pink House was first created in 2013 by Tracy Olesen and her sister Karen Sjoberg. Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in the time of her recovery, she was confronted with a large number of chemicals in the products she was using daily. The need to find natural products became a necessity, but with little findings, Karen and her sister decided to create products themselves.
After many hours, lots of research and trial and error, they carefully crafted a beautiful selection of products.
A few years later, Karen was sadly diagnosed with terminal cancer. After 8 months walking the long and wearisome journey that cancer is, she passed away in the first week of August 2015.
Tracy was determined to see the business grow and blossom into a brand of healthy, reliable and carefully crafted products. So, along with Karen’s Daughters Tegan and Lindsay, they have continued on this journey to bring healthy change to the beauty industry.
The name Pink House comes from the beloved home that all of the women spent time in. The house was filled with pink from the ceiling to the carpets. The name was chosen by Tracy and Karen as a way to acknowledge their mother who passed away many years before.
“The story and significance of the Pink House represent the timeless love and memories we have shared together as a family.“

Fresh Louelza Face Wash
The Fresh Louelza Face Wash is a beautiful product and one of my favourites that I tested. I have found in general that I prefer my face washes to be made with natural products as they seem to preserve the hydration in my skin.
This face wash is no difference. I have a dryer skin type and a lot of face washes tend to leave my skin feeling tight and as though all the oils have been stripped out.
With the Fresh Louelza Face Wash I am left with a beautifully clean face that feels soft and hydrated at the same time.
This cleanser is a natural milk cleanser and does exactly as it is described “to leave the skin squeaky clean but not dry.”
I also used this the take off my makeup to see how well it really cleaned and usually I am left with a bit of a mascara shadow under my eyes that needs further cleansing. I didn’t have this issue with this face wash. It left my skin clear of all makeup which is a huge bonus about the product.
Ingredients: organic mint green tea, cocos nucifera (organic coconut oil), persea americana (avocado oil), goats milk powder, malusdomestica angelica (organic apple) fruit Extract, vegetable glycerin, coriandrum sativum infused caprylic triglyceride ( organic cilantro infused fractionated coconut oil), alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), emulsifying wax NF, potassium cocoate (saponified coconut oil), potassium castorate (saponified castor oil), potassium palmate (saponified palm oil), citric acid, citrus bergamia (bergamot oil), cympopogan martini var sofia (ginger grass) essential oil.
Glow Sticks – Champagne & Blush
The glow sticks are a cream makeup stick that is incredibly versatile, as while you can use it in the original way it is intended, on the cheeks, it can also be used as a great eyeshadow base or on the lips.
These glow sticks have a beautiful shimmer that comes from the ingredient Mica which is a naturally occurring mineral dust.
As a mom to a little baby, I especially love using these glow sticks on those days when I don’t have time to do much makeup. I can add a beautiful glow to my skin that helps me to look more awake and as though I have actually had time to care for my complexion (I can at least pretend it’s true right?).
If you don’t wear much of a makeup base that often then I highly recommend this product for you to add a natural glow and a hint of colour to your skin without making it look covered in makeup. It’s quick and easy to apply with your fingers or a sponge.
I have just a few downsides to the Glow Sticks that in my opinion make them not for everyone. If you have an oily complexion then I could see you not liking these so much as they have an oil base to them which doesn’t really go away in the wearing process. Because of this they also don’t set. They stay “wet” to the touch which is fine if you are someone who is used to not powdering your makeup. You can, of course, set the product with a translucent powder which would slightly dim the shine, or you can amp it up even more by applying a powdered highlighter over top to set it and keep the shine.
In my opinion, it is a beautiful product to have in your makeup bag and especially great to wear in the summertime. There is a great range of colours to choose from.
The Champagne highlighter is my favourite as it looks gorgeous on my skin tone. I am incredibly fair so having a highlighter that shows up on me can be hard to find, but this Glow Stick colour is perfect for me.
Ingredients: coconut oil, hemp seed oil, meadowfoam oil, shea butter, organic beeswax, e-wax, rose hip extract, mica.
Lip Love – Minty
If there is one beauty product that I cannot go without, it is a lip balm. My lips frequently get so dry that I am always on the hunt for a truly moisturizing lip balm. I fell in love with the Lip Love in Minty the second I tried it.
I am a sucker for menthol and I love when you apply a product especially on the lips and it gives you that cold feeling. Because of the peppermint essential oil in the Minty Lip Love, it feels so soothing.
Its incredibly hydrating for the lips because of the coconut oil and the vitamin E has healing qualities, perfect for my dry lips.
There is 3 other Lip Loves to choose from which give a tint of colour to the lips.
Ingredients: organic bee’s wax, organic coconut oil, cilantro oil, vitamin E, peppermint essential oil
Face Fix Serum
I started using the Face Fix Serum a few weeks ago and it is now a part of my regular nighttime skin routine.
There are so many important ingredients in here for the skin and I love that it absorbs quickly.
Since using it I have seen a dramatic difference in the darkness under my eyes (which is saying something as I am up 5 times a night with my baby!)
It is great for using as a night oil, day oil, eye oil, scar reducer, stretch mark preventative, and blemish repair. The Face Fix contains Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Omega 6 fatty acids, Antioxidants and a natural source of Vitamin E.
The most surprising ingredient is the Meadowfoam Oil as it is a natural UV Ray blocker but does not block the absorption of Vitamin D. It is also very moisturizing and reduces wrinkles.
A couple other prize ingredients are Sea Buckthorn which contains natural anti-oxidants, high in Vitamin C and incredibly healing for aged skin. As well as Perilla Seed which helps with eczema and psoriasis.
Ingredients: limnanthes alba ( meadowfoam oil), persea americana(avocado oil), perilla frutescens (organic perilla seed oil), hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn oil), argania spinosa (organic argan oil), boswellia serrata (organic frankincense oil).
Dry Shampoo – Blondie
I find myself always testing different dry shampoos trying to find one I really love that lasts and is healthy for me to use. I am SO guilty of using aerosol dry shampoos simply for their convenience, but I know they aren’t healthy for me.
When trying the Blondie Dry Shampoo I was very pleased to see how far a little bit of product goes. I didn’t expect it the first time I used it so I looked a little like I had stuck my head in a bag of flour! Yikes! But the second time around I used less and it blended so beautifully into my hair and gave it back its life.
I have quite fine limp hair and this dry shampoo gave me volume that often only a blow out will do.
I love that they also provide a Hot Chocolate version along with the Blondie one for all the dark-haired ladies.
This dry shampoo is a very healthy option for your hair and will definitely give you those extra days you need before showering.
Ingredients: Zea Mays (cornstarch), Multani Mitti Clay (Fullers Earth), Maranta Arundinaceae (Arrowroot Powder) Oryza Sativa (Rice Powder), Australian Beige Clay, Ivory Clay
Pit Potion – Organic Mandarin
The Pit Potion in Organic Mandarin is the final product that I tried in the full line of products and I have to say that I have a love/hate relationship with it, not because of the quality or workability of it, but simply because I struggle with deodorants, especially natural ones in general.
Deodorants are a product that I am particularly fearful of when it comes to chemicals and unnatural ingredients. Especially being a woman, placing these ingredients directly onto my lymph nodes and in close contact of my breasts, I am fearful of developing cancer. Deodorants have been a large issue related to cancer and willingly placing these products on these porous areas daily is not good for the body. Therefore I have been desperately trying every natural deodorant out there.
My issues when it comes to deodorants is that I don’t naturally sweat much. I have found that most “white” deodorants leave a layer of white on my skin and because I don’t sweat much, it doesn’t break the product down and absorb. Instead, it balls up in my armpits and doesn’t do much for me. So far my best luck with this issue is with using clear gel deodorants, however, I have not yet found a natural healthy deodorant that is a clear gel.
The Pit Potion is a great natural deodorant that I don’t have issues of build up with. It provides a more hydrating wet feel rather than a dryer one which for me is ideal as it is the closest to a gel formula that I have found so far.
My downside with it is that I have personally found so far that it makes me end up smelling more than I would if I wore nothing. This is another issue I have found with natural deodorants in general. At first, it smells beautiful and masks any scents, but after a couple of hours, I found that I was noticing a smell on myself that I was self-conscious about that I don’t normally deal with. This makes me a little nervous to continue using this product even though its the best natural deodorant I have used so far. It could be that this particular deodorant, or this particular scent out of the two scents that are available, doesn’t work for me.
I am not giving up just yet and I do plan on finding a natural deodorant that does work for me as I think the most important thing about choosing to wear deodorant is that it is healthy for me.
Ingredients: Organic Coconut Oil, Pink Himalayan Salt, Organic Bee’s Wax, Organic Cilantro Water, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Arrowroot Powder, Tapioca Powder, Organic Lime, Organic Sweet Orange Oil, Frankincense Oil, Copaiba Balsam Oil, Bergamot Oil.
Finding well made natural beauty products can be tough, but with Pink House products you can rely on what you are using. Knowing that every ingredient is not harmful to you or the environment gives you peace of mind knowing that your health comes first.
There are so many more products in this line that I am keen to trying and I highly recommend them to you if you are in search of natural beauty solutions.
